Product Details
VIP (Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide) is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide of the secretin family, expressed throughout the central nervous system, gut, and immune cells. It is a reference compound in VPAC-receptor and neuro-immune research.
Mechanism of Action. VIP engages two G-protein-coupled receptors, VPAC1 and VPAC2. It modulates cAMP signaling, exerts anti-inflammatory effects on T-cells and macrophages, drives smooth-muscle relaxation, and contributes to circadian rhythm regulation in the suprachiasmatic nucleus.
